Urban Bike Rental in NYC
WE LOVE IT!
Urban bike rental is a growing trend in many urban areas in the US. We have recently travelled to New York City and loved seeing the latest trend growing in the city. According to a 2014 article in the Wall Street Journal, Bike-share programs in such cities at Chattanooga, Tenn., and Indianapolis have relied on federal dollars aimed at improving air quality, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
These types of bike rental programs allow local residents to buy an annual membership for a very competitive price and also targets tourists who may want to rent a bike for a half hour or the day. The tourist part of the programs seem to not yet have the volume, but we think that over time these types of bike experiences will become the go-to source for exploring our US cities.
Just recently in the news, it was announced that Citi Bike in New York City is soon to expand to 100 more rental stations. We love the map of bike rental stations in New York City included with the recent article on Streetsblog.com To join the NYC urban bike rental program or just check out their official map; please visit http://www.citibikenyc.com
Happy Biking!
